Everton chairman Kenwright spotted in London amid new manager talks

Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright has been spotted outside his offices in London today, as reported by Football Daily

Farhad Moshiri is reported to join Kenwright in the capital along with several other members of Everton’s board to make a decision on the remaining three candidates for the position – Frank Lampard, Vitor Pereira and Duncan Ferguson.

The Toffees are said to be ‘edging closer’ to finding a replacement for Rafa Benitez with key figures of the board also in London for the talks.

Huge decision

The next Everton manager has a huge job on their hands, and it is imperative the club make the correct decision.

Everton fans have made it abundantly clear they aren’t interested in Pereira as manager and appointing him is likely to add to the toxicity at the club at the moment.

If the former Porto manager makes a few mistakes the Toffees will be right back to square one which for obvious reasons is counterproductive.

Big Dunc was seen suited and booted travelling to London earlier today so there is no doubt he is taking these talks seriously, but he is no long-term manager.

He embodies the club and is an excellent figure to have around Finch Farm and is perfect for his current role as first team coach.

As underwhelming as it first seemed, the fans have warmed to Lampard. He seems the outsider’s favourite to take the role and rightly so with his experience in the Premier League and his relentless winning streak.

A decision is soon to be made and for all Blues sake, hopefully it is the right one.
