Trevor Sinclair wants to see ‘class act’ Frank Lampard as Everton manager
Everton are nearing the conclusion of their managerial search with interviews set for the final three candidates in the coming days.
Along with Vitor Periera and Duncan Ferguson, Frank Lampard is hoping to take the reigns at Goodison Park and steer the Toffees clear of relegation danger [The Mirror].
Trevor Sinclair played with Lampard when he came through the youth ranks at West Ham and thinks he is the ideal person to take on the mantle.

“I think it’s a great fit,” Sinclair said on talkSPORT Breakfast (28 January, 08:00 pm), “If you look at what he did at Derby bringing young players through, and at Chelsea, he was getting it right.
“He earned his stripes and he showed he is a capable operator. He’s a class act and what he’s achieved in the game should earn respect as soon as he walks in the door.
“The fans will accept him and welcome him at Goodison Park and when you’ve got an academy in Finch Farm like Everton have, you’ve got to utilise that.
“Anthony Gordon came on against Villa and he was the best player on the pitch, never mind best player in an Everton shirt.
“If Frank goes in there it will be a breath of fresh air and he will turn it around.”

No more waiting
Everton have waited long enough to get this problem sorted and there is still no solution in place.
Rafael Benitez was sacked nearly two weeks ago and they are still left managerless in the middle of a Premier League season.
Lampard is perhaps the most logical of the three and Sinclair makes a great point in his previous experience of developing young players from within.
Gordon is the standout of the current crop of youngsters trying to break into the Toffees first team but there is a wave of them still patiently waiting for their chance.
Not all of them will get that chance of course but Lampard is a far better option for the currently contracted players at Goodison Park than Ferguson and especially Periera.
If they can, they need to get him in prior to the transfer window slamming shut on 31 January so he can maybe squeeze through a signing or two to help him drag Everton out of trouble.
