Everton make Donny Van de Beek loan signing a ‘top priority’ before deadline – David Ornstein
Donny Van de Beek has emerged as a ‘top priority’ signing for Everton on loan before the transfer window shuts on Monday night, according to The Athletic.
The Dutch midfielder was close to joining Everton on loan in the summer, only for Manchester United to block the move at the last minute.
But Van de Beek has struggled for game time at Old Trafford, not making a start in the Premier League this season, and has pushed to leave the club for regular game time.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Everton have made him their ‘top priority’ signing ahead of Monday’s deadline and the player was discussed in managerial interviews on Friday [Jan 28th].
Frank Lampard is expected to become the new manager after being offered the job [Telegraph] and would welcome the addition of Van de Beek in the team.
Huge
If Everton can get this deal over the line before the transfer window slams shut on Monday night then it would be a huge coup.
The Toffees’ midfield has been a problem area so far and currently they are short on numbers with Tom Davies, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Fabian Delph all out injured.

That leaves Allan and Andre Gomes as the only senior players in midfield, and a serious lack of creativity and quality beyond them.
His passing, pressing, eye for goal and work rate is likely to see him become a fan favourite at Everton in a time where the club are desperate for someone to come in and save them from relegation.
Everton are currently in 16th place in the Premier League, just four points off the relegation zone with one win in 14 games in all competitions.
