Frank Lampard wants Everton to re-sign Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain
Frank Lampard wants Everton to re-sign Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain, according to Mirror journalist David Maddock.
Writing via his personal Twitter account on Sunday evening [30 January], Maddock claimed that Lampard is keen on signing a midfielder and a defender before the transfer window closes.
It is understood that as well as Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek, the next Blues boss also likes the idea of 32-year-old Gueye returning to Goodison Park two and a half years after he left for PSG.

Interesting choice
Everton could do with a couple of new midfielders, in all honesty, and all the signs elsewhere right now suggest that van de Beek is coming in on loan from Manchester United [Fabrizio Romano].
However, if they land van de Beek, it would also be a good piece of business to re-sign Gueye too.
He’s been in and out of the PSG starting line-up this season, playing 20 times in all competitions, scoring four goals in the process.

The Senegal international, who’s away at the Africa Cup of Nations right now and will play Equatorial Guinea later today, has started 12 times in Ligue 1.
It may be hard to convince PSG to let Gueye leave when he clearly has a role in their squad.
Yes, PSG may have the Ligue 1 title wrapped up already but they’ll be gunning for their first-ever Champions League crown this season and Gueye started all five of their group stage matches. His only absence was due to suspension.
It may also be difficult to afford Gueye with Marca reporting last summer he earns £5.8million-a-year (£110,000-a-week). We very much doubt that a deal will be possible before 11pm tomorrow (31 January).
If Gueye is good enough for Champions League-chasing PSG, he’s good enough for an Everton side that is in dire need of new faces to help steer us away from the Premier League’s relegation battle.
In other Everton news, a Sky Sports journalist has mooted a major senior exit at Goodison in an update from outside Finch Farm.
