Van de Beek agent to arrive in London today to sign Everton loan contract
Donny van de Beek’s agent will be in London today (Sunday) to sign off on the Manchester United midfielder’s loan move to Everton, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing via his personal Twitter account on Sunday afternoon (30 January), the Guardian journalist reported that Everton have beaten Crystal Palace in the race for the 24-year-old Netherlands international as they have agreed to cover all of his wages until June. Palace only offered to pay 85 per cent.
It is understood that there’s no option to buy and van de Beek’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya will be in London to sign the central midfielder’s loan contract.
All but done
It seems as though this deal could be wrapped up and confirmed by Everton by the end of Sunday, and that will be great news.
Frank Lampard’s imminent appointment should be announced too in what could be the start of a new era at Goodison Park.
We hope Lampard does well. He wasn’t our first pick to be the new manager but in all honesty, he’s a safer choice than the less-experienced Duncan Ferguson and the experienced failure that is Vitor Pereira.
Everton have needed to strengthen several areas of their squad this month and in van de Beek, one of the most pressing issues will be sorted out.

Nathan Patterson is now going to be our long-term right-back, Vitaly Mykolneko has replaced Lucas Digne (thanks, Rafa Benitez) and Anwar El Ghazi has signed too for some reason.
Yes, van de Beek is only coming in on loan and there’s no option for the deal to be made permanent.
However, if he does well and he enjoys it here at Goodison, we could see that happening in the summer because there’s no way he’ll want to stay at Manchester United on their bench.
In other Everton news, a Sky Sports journalist has dropped a major new manager update from outside Finch Farm in the last 24 hours.
