Everton set to sign Fleetwood Town Billy Crellin on two-year deal
Everton have reportedly secured the signature of Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Billy Crellin on transfer deadline day.
According to Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath, the 21-year-old Englishman has completed his medical at the club.
He is set to sign a contract until 2024 as the Toffees look to make their third deadline day move after announcing Donny van de Beek and likely to make the Dele Alli signing official as well.
Via his personal Twitter account, McGrath wrote, “England Under-20 goalkeeper Billy Crellin set for medical at Everton ahead of move from Fleetwood. Deal agreed and set for contract until 2024 at #EFC.”
Weird one
There were no links to the young goalkeeper in the buildup to deadline day and suddenly he’s set to join the team.
The fact that they’ve gone for someone unheard of suggests that they would’ve scouted him properly.
He will come in as the third choice at best, looking to climb his way up the pyramid at Goodison Park.
Whether or not he will immediately be loaned out remains to be seen, but from what he’s done thus far, it looks like a good signing and one for the future.

He’s got a decent taste of League One football, both at Fleetwood as well as Bolton Wanderers.
Crellin has also gone out on loan at FC United of Manchester and Chorley and playing at that level also comes with its own set of challenges.
He was also part of the England squad that won the under-17 World Cup in India in 2017.
We will be keeping an eye out on him to see how he progress over the coming years.
In other Everton news, the club have made an approach to sign an English attacker before the window closes.
