Donny van de Beek posts message on Twitter after Everton training session

Donny van de Beek has shared a message on Twitter after completing his training since joining Everton in January.

The Dutchman joined on the transfer deadline day on loan from Manchester United.

The Toffees do not have the option to sign him permanently, but the midfielder will be looking to make his loan spell a memorable one.

It has been a nightmare spell for Van de Beek at Old Trafford, with the midfielder struggling for regular games since joining from Ajax in 2020.

He wrote on Twitter: “Great second session as a [Blue]. Thank you for making me feel so welcome.”

A smart signing

Frank Lampard has said today (03 February) what he actually expects from the Dutchman.

Everton needed depth in midfield, especially in the attacking midfield areas. Van de Beek is an intelligent and technically gifted player who is very good at link-up play.

He is a versatile player and it remains to be seen how Lampard uses him. Probably in the three-man midfield, he will be given more freedom to link up with forwards like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.

This has been some transfer window for the Toffees. They bolstered their defence by adding Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson, and also brought in Anwar El Ghazi on loan.

However, the addition of Dele Alli and Van de Beek will give them the necessary firepower to climb up the ladder. The quality is undeniable.

The results have been very poor but they can turn it around.
