Kevin Campbell has been left thrilled by Everton announcing Ashley Cole as their latest coaching addition on Thursday.
The former left-back has followed Frank Lampard to Goodison Park, joining from Chelsea’s academy this week.
Campbell has insisted that more winners at the club will instil that mindset into the squad as they battle away in the Premier League.
“Of course, I think the more good people you have around the manager, the better,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“If people with the same mindset, that winning mindset, you look at the resumes of some of these guys, and they go before them, look what they’ve done, coaching and playing, they speak for themselves.
“That’s maybe what Everton need, they need the mindset of the winning mentality, and that’s what Lampard is coming with, he’s got a bit to prove. Are they winners? Definitely.”
This is spot on, with Everton desperate for a new start.
Rafa Benitez was starting to take everyone away at Goodison Park, getting rid of the likes of Marcel Brands and Danny Donachie in the build-up to his own departure.
That mindset was negative from the day he stepped into the club, with fans never getting over his history with Liverpool.
Cole and Lampard have won it all in football as players, and given their strong background at Chelsea in terms of coaching too, this will be perfect.
