Tim Cahill tipped for Everton return under Lampard – report
Former Everton star Tim Cahill has been tipped for a return to Goodison Park under new manager Frank Lampard.
The Australian impressed Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri with his managerial advice that saw Lampard appointed as manager.
Moshiri was impressed with the Everton legend’s knowledge of the game and being a fan favourite thanks to his successful time on Merseyside as a player could help him secure a role among the staff.

Head of Government Relations & Facilities at Football Victoria in Australia, Sebastian Hassett, told the ECHO: “I’ve never met someone so unequivocally determined to succeed in everything he touches and whose energy levels remain indefatigably high.”
He added “This Everton squad isn’t short on talent but Cahill would walk into the Starting XI because he would infuse those around him with belief and desire.
“Right now, this squad is totally bereft of those very qualities.
“In a backroom role, he can do the next best thing, which is to use his personality to drive those who aren’t performing to lift to a higher level – either by cuddling or cajoling, both of which I’ve seen him do.
“There is something about his presence and self-confidence that is extremely compelling. He still carries an aura and energy that would lift any dressing room.”

Club legend
This would be a great appointment by Everton.
It seems as the Blues are slowly but surely realising some of the mistakes he has made whilst being in charge since 2016.
The Blues have been stripped of anyone who genuinely understands the value of the club and what it means to put the famous blue shirt on.
With Duncan Ferguson also staying at the club thanks to Lampard’s request, there would be a good mix of Everton legends around Finch Farm.
This is something essential to the success of the Toffees. If the club continuously chop and change key personnel, the club will lose its identity which is what has happened in recent years, leaving the fans completely disconnected.
Cahill wore his heart on his sleeve as a player and gave everything humanly possible whilst scoring bags of goals in the Blues’ best era in recent years.
He would bring that same work ethic with him this time around and hopefully just as much success.
