Ashley Cole shares first message with Everton fans as first team coach

Ashley Cole has shared his first message with the Everton fans since joining the club as first team coach.

The 41-year-old left a role at Chelsea’s academy to follow his former Stamford Bridge and England teammate, Frank Lampard, to Merseyside.

The former left-back hailed the talent at Finch Farm and whilst admitting he ‘can’t wait’ to get started.

He shared on his personal Twitter: “Delighted to start my new role for Everton.

“A huge thank you to Chelsea & everyone connected with Everton for the opportunity, especially the fans that have given me such a warm welcome.

“I can’t wait to start work with the talented players & staff at the club.”

Perfect blend

Lampard is assembling quite the dream team at Finch Farm.

Despite Cole being fairly new to coaching, with little experience at youth level with England and Chelsea, his experience cannot be underrated.

The defender is a Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, League cup and four-time FA Cup winner. If anyone knows how to win trophies he and Lampard surely do, the pair are serial winners and have so much experience in English football.

Cole’s lack of experience could be a benefit to the Toffees. Much like Lampard, he will be desperate to impress so you can expect him to leave everything on the table in his first coaching role in the Premier League.

Ducan Ferguson staying on as per Lampard’s request may be one of the biggest factors in giving the Blues coaching staff it’s perfect balance.

Not only does Lampard have all the tools he needs for personal and on the pitch success, but he has someone who personifies the club on his side.

Big Dunc has the best interest of the club at heart and the fans love him, something the former Chelsea manager can utilise during his time at Goodison Park.

The coaching staff look very strong, so it is an exciting time to be an Evertonian.
