Kevin Campbell: Frank Lampard desperate to get Dele Alli and Donny Van de Beek in Everton side v Newcastle

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell has insisted that Frank Lampard will be itching to get Dele Alli and Donny Van de Beek into his Everton side against Newcastle.

The ex-Toffees talisman questioned the point in the signings if they weren’t going to play, with two debuts on the cards at St James’ Park this evening.

Everton have been crying out for more goal threats, and Campbell believes these two signings will be the answer.

“I would think so,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“Truth of the point, what’s the point in bringing them to the football club if you’re not going to start playing them?

“Dele Alli and Donny Van de Beek are real top players, I know they’ve suffered without playing at the moment but you’ve got to try and integrate that quality into the team as quickly as possible because one thing both are, both are goal threats.

“The more goal threats you’ve got on the pitch, it makes you more of a dangerous team. I think Frank Lampard has been working with them in training, he will want to integrate them into that team ASAP.”

The night is finally here.

Anticipation has been through the roof since these deals were announced, with both being introduced on the pitch against Brentford over the weekend.

It would be the perfect start for both if they can play their part in a big win against Newcastle, one that ultimately would take us away from the relegation zone.

Both will be itching to start, and Lampard is going to have a real headache selecting his team already – something we haven’t seen in months at Goodison Park.
