Kevin Campbell reacts as Glenn Hoddle takes aim at Everton signing Dele Alli
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has insisted that it doesn’t matter what Everton star Dele Alli wears, as long as he does the business on the pitch.
The ex-Toffees talisman was reacting after Glenn Hoddle took aim at the England international during his unveiling last week.
Campbell backed Frank Lampard, who came out in defence of his new signing and what he can produce on the pitch.

“That’s Glenn Hoddle’s opinion,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“At the end of the day, it doesn’t take away from what he’s paid to do, does it? So, again, I’ve seen some shocking fashion from players in the past and it hasn’t stopped them from performing, so it’s easy to criticise and say whatever.
“I’m sure, Frank Lampard said it, whatever he’s comfortable wearing, he’s got no problem as long as he comes in and odes the business, he’s got no worries with whatever anyone wants to work, I’m of the same ilk.”

Embarrassing.
You can put it down to a change in time, but there is no excuse.
Hoddle’s comments were simply an attack on Alli, who did nothing more than step out onto the pitch to wave at and applaud the fans.
Lampard was spot on to hit back at those comments, insisting that if he does the business on the pitch, it doesn’t matter about anything else.
Alli’s first performance at Newcastle wasn’t the best, but he will be looking to make that impact against Leeds on Saturday.
