Kevin Campbell has insisted that Everton stood no chance of beating Newcastle to the appointment of Dan Ashworth.

“Look, to try and get him, it may be set in stone that he’s going to Newcastle,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“Everton may not have even stood a chance of getting him, but again, you have to box clever when doing this.

No chance.

Talks are said to have taken place, meaning that it could only be the formalities left in order to get this one over the line.

Lampard will certainly be asked for his opinion, but the new boss won’t get the final say knowing Moshiri and how he works.
