View: Goodison statistic shows Frank Lampard has what it takes at Everton
Frank Lampard has come in and already done what his predecessors couldn’t, get Everton playing on the front foot.
It is likely to be down to their outdated tactics but Carlo Ancelotti and Rafa Benitez respectively just could get the Blues playing.
Far too often did the attacking players fail to make an impact thanks to the instructions they were given or the style of play the manager at the time imposed on the team.

The Toffees have so many talented players that were crying out for a system that suited them and they might just have found it under the former Chelsea midfielder.
In their Goodison Park clash v Leeds United, Everton had more shots (10) than in any other of their Premier League games this season. In fact, their half time tally of seven was enough to beat their full-time tally in 20 out of their 21 league matches played this season.
More impressively, it was statistically the Blues’ best attacking performance since 2013. Sky Sports statistician Matt Cheetham revealed on Twitter: “That’s the first time Everton have recorded 20+ shots and 10+ shots on target in a PL game since 2013 – some 314 games ago.”
Shocking
That is unbelievable. Lampard has been here a matter of weeks and has already given us our best attacking, overall performance at Goodison Park.

It’s not sure whether that shows us how good the new boss is or highlights just how bad those who came before him were.
It wasn’t rocket science though as Lampard is proving, his predecessors just clearly weren’t the right men for the job.
Farhad Moshiri wasted years of his Toffees reign going after household name after household name in his attempt to find the right man in charge and it feels very ironic that it might be a man with a managerial CV as small as Lampard’s.
He understands the job though and that is the most important thing. He has got these players playing in the style they should be which has seen players like Alex Iwobi, Jonjoe Kenny and Donny van de Beek name a few play better than they have done in a long time.
The man in charge is crucial and maybe the next one to look at replacing is Moshiri himself.
