Michael Ball slams Everton owner Farhad Moshiri for Anwar El Ghazi move
Michael Ball has slammed Everton for signing Anwar El Ghazi in the recent January transfer window.
The Egypt international is yet to feature after joining the Blues on loan from Aston Villa, with others shining.
Ball questioned Farhad Moshiri for the role the Everton owner played in bringing the player to the club.

“Anwar El Ghazi has been brought to the club due to Farhad (Moshiri) having a close relationship with a super-agent”, Ball wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.
“The same thing happened last season as well. Josh King was brought in on deadline day but Carlo Ancelotti hardly gave him any game time.
“What is the point in bringing players in who are not going to play and just sit on the bench?”

Bizarre
Spot on. Why on earth does Everton’s owner think it’s okay to stick his nose in the football business?
He is a financier, a businessman, not a scout. Moshiri has absolutely no clue about football and having mates who are super agents shouldn’t change a thing.
It’s laughable that he can listen to his mate who hasn’t made a single good recommendation yet rather than the experts he pays so handsomely to do the job.
It optimises everything that has been wrong with the club under his reign. How can the club have a clear direction when the owner is essentially making his own signings?
The club needs a clear structure and identity that is consistent no matter who is playing on the pitch or managing the team.
Moshiri can throw as much money at the club as he wants but if he continues to try and call the shots, something he is completely unqualified to do, the Toffees will make no progress at all.
