Everton player ratings v Southampton: Allan disappoints
Everton put in a woeful performance against Southampton on Saturday and ended up losing the contest 2-0.
Saints scored a goal in either half of the game to secure the three points and send the Toffees back home empty-handed.
Frank Lampard made some big decisions in his team selection and it certainly did not pay off.

Here are our player ratings for the game:
Jordan Pickford 6
Only Everton player who put in a good performance. Was little he could do to stop the goals and apart from that he was impressive.
Seamus Coleman 5
Not an ideal game for the Toffees captain who looked off the pace and made a number of telling errors.
Mason Holgate 5
The Englishman struggled in an unconventional centre-back position.
Jonjoe Kenny 4
Much like Holgate, he left plenty to be wanting. Struggled from the first minute.
Michael Keane 5
Had a decent game at the heart of the Toffees defence. Showed good awareness and was composed in possession.

Allan 2
An absolute disaster from the Brazilian. Came extremely close to being shown a red card. Was rightly taken off by Lampard.
Alex Iwobi 4
Tried hard but failed to be influential in the final third. Has had worse games this season, though.
Donny van de Beek 5
Compared to his last Toffees performance, here he was a shadow of himself. Looked leggy, misplaced a few easy passes and all in all, did not look up for it.
Anthony Gordon 6
The best of the Everton attackers on the day. Looked threatening on occasion but did not have adequate support.
Dominic Calvert Lewin 4
Struggled to get involved in the buildup and failed to even get a shot on target.

Richarlison 4
Like his strike partner, it was an average display from the Brazilian and Lampard would certainly be fuming with them.
Subs
Andros Townsend 4
Andre Gomes 3
Dele Alli 4
