Everton ace Demarai Gray could return from injury soon after cryptic post

Diminutive winger Demarai Gray has been a crucial player for Everton this season but he has missed the Toffees’ previous two games through injury.

The Englishman was signed for just £1.7million in the summer by Rafael Benitez and has since become a favourite with the Goodison Park faithful.

Which is why his latest post on Instagram might excite Evertonians as he may have suggested a return to the pitch is not far away.

On the surface, the post looks a fairly simple one of him celebrating a goal with his teammates above the caption of an hourglass emoji but perhaps there is more to it.

Gray could be suggesting that the sands of the hourglass are running out and that his return will be sooner rather than later.

Speculation

There is no way in which anyway can be 100% sure the message he is sending out here and it would be best to let him recover before starting the conversation.

The 25-year-old may have been arguably the Toffees’ best layer so far this season but with a new manager at the helm, is he going to have the same impact?

Everton

The deadline day signings of Donny van de Beek and Dele Alli suggests that Frank Lampard wants to have options as the creative outlet and maybe Gray’s place has been taken by the new boys.

If he does return soon, Lampard has to give him the chance to prove himself all over again and if he can do so, he will catapult himself to a key role in the side.

If he is at his best, there are fewer better players to watch in the Premier League thanks to his ability to glide past opponents and produce a quality end product after it.

This injury hasn’t helped his mega season but all is not lost yet for the 25-year-old, regardless of the additions made.

In other Everton news, we think Lampard has the next Dominic Calvert-Lewin under his nose after a man of the match display yesterday.
