View: Everton away issues highlighted with embarrassing St. Mary’s statistic
A worrying match week 26 statistic has shown the severity of the Everton job Frank Lampard has on his hands.
The Blues lost possession a whopping 73 times against Southampton, more than any other team across the match day as per Liverpool ECHO.
Lampard’s side failed to capitalise on Leeds’ loss against Manchester United after beating their relegation rivals 3-0 at Goodison Park the week before.

The Toffees remain in 16th place in the Premier League, now level on points with Newcastle United.
Two different teams
Everton’s home and away form have been polar opposite this season and you wouldn’t think they were the same team when watching them.
Even under new boss Lampard the away curse has continued. When the play at Goodison Park there has been tenacity, urgency and aggression in all senses right across the board.
The 3-0 thumping of very capable Leeds optimised the Blues at home with their St. Mary’s nightmare providing some rather unwanted proof of their away concerns.

Everton seem incapable of playing away from home. It’s almost as if they leave all of their preparations made throughout the week at Finch Farm when they get on the coach.
It has to be a confidence thing. This Toffees team have been through a lot over the last couple of seasons and have faced some really heavy – but justified at times – criticism which is bound to fill them with doubt.
As soon as the atmosphere or game goes against them, which happens a lot in the Premier League away from home – they go under.
It is a problem Lampard will need time to address.
