View: Everton must sign Conor Gallagher at the end of the season

Everton must sign Conor Gallagher in the summer with his loan deal at Crystal Palace coming to an end.

The 22-year-old has gone from strength to strength this season and has been the Eagles best player with 12 goal involvements in 24 games, more than any other player.

The Toffees have just lost Jean-Philippe Gbamin from the squad with Manchester United loanee Donny van De Beek expected to return to his parent club at the end of the season so Frank Lampard could do with an extra midfielder.

There aren’t many better young English talents playing in the Premier League and with Gallagher already admitting he is an admirer of the former Chelsea legend as per BT Sport; the pair could be a match made in heaven.

It is unknown whether the maestro has an immediate future at Stamford Bridge with their huge wealth of talent so Everton could be a great place for him to take that natural next step up to gauge whether he is ready or not to return to his parent club.

This would be an amazing coup by the Blues if they manage to pull it off. Lampard has reportedly already been in contact with his former club in an attempt to get the ball rolling for a summer move as reported by TEAMTalk.

From an Everton perspective this would improve the quality of the squad massively. The Blues haven’t got any other attack minded central midfielders like the brilliant Chelsea youngster, other than Dele Alli of course who is yet to take off on Merseyside.

It isn’t a guarantee he can replicate his scintillating form shown in south east London with Everton but there is no better place for him to make that next step.

The former West Brom loanee can learn so much from Lampard. He is one of – if not – England’s and Chelsea’s all-time greatest players with a massive amount of experience.

His attacking output was exemplary as a player and Gallagher can undoubtedly pick his ear as he tries to follow suit.

In other Everton news, Frank Lampard has urged players to maintain ‘belief’ in his system.
