Kevin Campbell has been left stunned by Everton winger Anthony Gordon and his performances in the past week.
The ex-Toffees talisman singled out the “young star” after Pep Guardiola was also left impressed last weekend after the Goodison Park showdown with Manchester City.
Frank Lampard has really opened the door to the winger since his arrival, with Rafa Benitez never consistently backing him.
“Gordon has been excellent,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“Even in a high-level game, he took it to Manchester City, in the first half he was excellent. He had to dig in, and it was nice words from Pep Guardiola about Gordon.
“But, he’s proven to be a starter at Everton, a young star – fair play to him.”
Gordon has stepped up massively in recent weeks.
After shining in games, he got his slice of luck with his deflected goal against Leeds and continues to be the main spark.
In a season dampened with many negatives so far, the winger has been the one bright light that everyone has needed to bring confidence.
Gordon has been a very well-kept secret in Merseyside, with Guardiola’s words simply unlocking that book.
Lampard is only going to help the winger become even better, with much more success to come in his future – bring it on.
