Kevin Thelwell eager to work with several Everton starlets – Adam Jones
Liverpool ECHO journalist Adam Jones has outlined several Everton players that Kevin Thelwell will be eager to work with.
The Toffees’ new director of football is notorious for developing young talent and will look to continue that at Finch Farm.
Jones hailed winger Anthony Gordon among the hot youth prospects Thelwell will look to improve.

He said: “In terms of young talent to develop, no doubt his eyes would have been squarely drawn to Anthony Gordon.
“It’s sometimes difficult to remember just how young the winger is and how much progress he can still make. It’s an exciting prospect, there’s absolutely no question about that.
“Nathan Patterson was another Thelwell could certainly have had his eye on, even if the Scotland international was taken off at half time.”
He added “Lewis Dobbin, Reece Welch and Isaac Price are just three signs of the exciting things to come from Everton’s academy, with Tyler Onyango only missing out with a hernia issue and Ryan Astley also on the bench.
“With the likes of Elijah Campbell, Stanley Mills and on-loan Lewis Warrington also turning heads there’s clearly a strong base for Thelwell to be able to build upon.”

New era
This is a really exciting time to be an Everton fan as the club enters a new era.
The appointment of Frank Lampard and the work the former Chelsea boss has done since arriving at the club has filled the fans with confidence after years of disappointing managerial appointments.
The very narrow loss to Manchester City that should have ended in a well-deserved point is proof of the great work the 43-year-old is doing despite only being in the job a matter of months.
With Thelwell now the director of football, the future looks even brighter. That has been the Toffees problem for quite some time now – no direction or identity throughout the club.
As he has done with previous clubs, most notably Wolves, the new director of football will straighten out the Blues vision and get the whole club playing to the same beat.
The pair have all the skills to restore the Blues’ status at the top of English football. All they need is Farhad Moshiri to let them.
