Everton boss Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole share White Hart Lane talk
Frank Lampard has opened up on the conversation he and former Chelsea player and Everton coach Ashley Cole had before the Blues trip to Tottenham Hotspur this evening (March 7).
The Toffees will hope for better fortune on their travels as they look to widen their slim one-point gap on the relegation zone in 17th place.
During an interview with Gary Neville back in November, Lampard admitted he used to call White Hart Lane “Three Point Lane” and the former Chelsea man will hope for more of the same tonight.

He Liverpool ECHO: “I don’t expect a good reception – but speaking to Ashley Cole he expects a worse reception than me.
“It’s all good fun, I always enjoyed the battles with Tottenham as a Chelsea player and West Ham player before that.
“But it’s not part of my thinking, I’m actually not even considering the games I’ve played with or managed at Chelsea – it’s a completely different position.
“You have to take the sting out of the opposition wherever you go, the focal point has to be us.”
Must win
Other than thumping Leeds United recently, Spurs have been in dire form. Antonio Conte has failed to steady the ship in north London which means they are very much there for the taking this evening.

The Toffees should be right up for this one. They simply can’t afford any more lacklustre performances as the threat of relegation grows week by week.
That is far from saying they have to win every week because that is ridiculous but the games where Everton can and should win, need to be won.
They do have a little bit of breathing space with games in hand over all of their relegation rivals, but those games need to be converted into points.
Every single team down at the bottom of the table have shown signs that they are prepared to take the fight right to the end of the season but if the Blues get the next few games right, they could be well clear before then.
In other Everton news, Frank Lampard urges the Toffees not to be a ‘soft touch’ away from home.
