Everton fans applauded Anthony Gordon after Tottenham Hotspur defeat
Adam Jones claims that Anthony Gordon was in ‘despair’ and ‘gutted’ after Everton suffered a 5-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.
Writing for Liverpool Echo, Jones shared that he went to the travelling support to applaud them for cheering the team on despite the result.
He was greeted with cheers and claps from the Toffees fans who let him know how much they valued his contribution to the the team.

Jones wrote, “Gordon was visibly gutted when the third goal went in – standing on the halfway line, crouching down and ruffling his hair vigorously with his hands.
“[Gordon] was one of the last players to make his way over to the corner of the pitch after shaking hands with his opponents.
“As he applauded the fans and raised his hands in apology, he was met with fans clapping him back as they could see the hard effort he had put into his 90 minutes.”
Top lad
Gordon may have been one of the youngest players on the team, but he showed the most maturity.
He played with such character and vigour from start to end and was duly applauded by the fans.
He’s taken his game from strength to strength this season and we cannot wait to see how he fares in the coming years.

The youngster has got everything in his locker to be a top Premier League attacker.
Hopefully, he’s coached by the right set of people as bad coaches lead to players’ progress being halted and that’s not something anyone would want of Gordon.
