Amazon commentators hilariously mock Everton attack after protest v Newcastle

Amazon commentator Guy Mowbray was at his witty best as he made a hilarious joke about the Everton attack after a bizarre protest was staged during their game v Newcastle.

With the game even at 0-0 and just minutes into the second half, a fan ran onto the pitch and tied himself to the goal post by the neck with a cable tie.

It caused an eight minute stoppage as stewards and officials tried to get him off the post using scissors, bolt cutters and other items before finally freeing him.

But after a giant set of bolt cutters were brought out of the tunnel and raced around the pitch by a steward, they didn’t work immediately and the stoppage continued.

Co-commentator Alan Shearer commented that they were ‘blunt’, before Mowbray instantly replied, “like Everton’s strike force.”

Ouch

The old saying says that the truth hurts, and that comment certainly hurt. It came moments after a discussion about how the Toffees were nearing seven hours without a goal.

The Blues struggled again in the final third against Newcastle during this game, with no real opportunities created in the game although they did look better defensively for the most part.

In what was a must-win game for Frank Lampard’s side, he had the crowd right up for the game and they were behind the side from beginning to end.

Everton went on to nick a 99th-minute winner through Alex Iwobi, as the ten men snatched three huge points in their battle against relegation.

They were reduced to ten men after Allan was given a straight red card for a cynical tackle on Allan Saint-Maximin in the second half. It was originally given as a yellow card, but a VAR review saw it upgraded to a red.
