Everton confirmed XI v Crystal Palace: Doucoure starts

Frank Lampard has named his Everton playing XI to take on Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

With a midfield crisis, the Englishman had to make do with the players that he had at his disposal.

Which meant handing starts to players that he would’ve otherwise preferred on the bench.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been dropped to the bench and Lampard has decided to field a back three for this one.

An FA Cup run may not be as important as surviving in the Premier League, but it’s a match that should get the Toffees fans excited.

Lampard knows he’s going to have a tough job on his hands as Palace are no pushovers.

Add to that, given the team’s woes in midfield, he appears to have picked the side that should grant him a path into the next round.

The defence in recent weeks has been a total shambles so that’s one area of the pitch that needs sorting out.

A clean sheet today would go a long way towards proving that the club are on the right track.

Hopefully, the away end will be buzzing from start to end and will carry the team over the line.
