Danny Murphy destroys Everton defender Michael Keane amid awful form
Danny Murphy has savaged Everton defender Michael Keane amid a terrible run of form for the Blues.
The Englishman was the most centre-back on the pitch alongside teammates Ben Godfrey and Mason Holgate in the Toffees’ 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace.
Murphy questioned Lampard’s decision making after the 43-year-old after he continuously backs the defender despite making the same mistakes.

He told talkSPORT [21 March], as cited by This Is Futbol: “He does keep putting the same people out there who are making the same mistakes. Now, Keane, who has been a good player, he is physically shot at the moment.
“I don’t know what’s going on, so it’s hard to judge because you never know with what’s going on in life for some people, where they’re at in his head, but physically he’s gone.
“He can’t get about the pitch. It’s not a personal thing about Keane. He’s shipping goals for them. Frank kept putting him back – he dropped him, he put him back in.”

Keane is awful, everyone knows that.
He isn’t anywhere near as bad when playing next to a player like Yerry Mina but it is a disaster when he has to lead the backline and Everton often find themselves losing.

He isn’t a player capable of organising a defence. Keane is at his best when he can focus solely on the game in front and the opposition whilst leaving the organising to one of the other senior defenders.
Murphy’s criticism is a little bit unfair on Lampard though. Who else does the talkSPORT pundit expect the boss to pick? Three of the Blues’ four centre-backs were on the pitch and Mina didn’t even travel to Selhurst Park.
Hopefully, the team can string together a run of form good enough to keep them in the Premier League and Lampard in the job.
Then the new boss will have the summer window to fix this awful squad as well as having the whole pre-season to work with the players and get them playing his style.
In other Everton news, Michael Ball claims the Blues players have no “backbone”.
