Kevin Campbell knows Everton support will always show up if players show desire
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell believes that the Everton supporters will always “vociferously” back their team if the players show fight.
There were boos from the Goodison Park stands after Wolves took the points in a 1-0 win (13 March), but the crowd was in full voice again for the uplifting win over Newcastle four days later.
The twelfth man is considered vital to Frank Lampard’s chances of leading the team away from relegation danger, and Campbell is confident it will always be there as long as the team still believes.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, the former Toffees goalscorer said: “No, I think it’s a lot of frustration. I’ve played there when the crowd have booed.
“If the team are giving their all and everything like that, of course the fanbase are going to be disappointed with the result, but the Everton fans will show up and they will vociferously support their team, that’s for sure.
“If the team doesn’t show the willing, and the want, and the fight, then they’re going to get some stick.
“That goes whether you’re at the top of the league or the bottom, if you’re not putting it in you’re going to get it.
“I just think the Goodison faithful are going to be right behind the team. They’re going to back the team, and if they show up and fight they will back them fully.”

Results are volatile currently and fans have been put through it over the past week.
The two key home league games resulted in a deflating defeat and a rousing victory, with the outlook after each at different ends of the spectrum.
The Newcastle win was followed up by another awful defensive show on the road with the FA Cup loss at Crystal palace, so what happens next is currently anyone’s guess.
In other Everton news, a former teammate has no doubts that Lampard will come good for the club.
