Kyle Walker-Peters sends message to Andros Townsend amid Everton injury news
Everton will be without exciting winger Andros Townsend for the rest of the season after he suffered a nasty injury in Sunday’s FA Cup defeat.
The 30-year-old was forced off after just 16 minutes at Selhurst Park against his former side Crystal Palace and it was revealed yesterday that his season was over due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The England international posted on Instagram last night to address his setback and Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters was quick to respond to his former Tottenham teammate.
The full-back, who recently received his first England call-up, said “speedy recovery bro,” in response to Townsend’s post to which the 30-year-old responded with a fist pump emoji.
Alex Iwobi, Yerry Mina, Anthony Gordon and Salomon Rondon were the four Toffees who also replied to his post while Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell and Wilfried Zaha also sent their public support of the 30-year-old.
Other footballing talents such as Christian Benteke and Timothy Fosu-Mensah also sent their good wishes to the Everton ace.
Respected
Not every player in the game would receive such overwhelming support which goes a very long way to telling you just how respected Townsend is by his peers.

He has been there and done it in every competition and holds himself in the highest regard off the pitch to keep grounded when he could so easily have gotten lost in the bright lights of the Premier League.
Frank Lampard will have to make do without him this season though and the extent of an anterior cruciate ligament injury could keep him out of the start of next season too.
There have been murmurs that he may have even played his last game for the Toffees but he should be able to recover at some point next season to help Everton succeed.
In other Everton news, Jaap Stam has offered his opinion on if this Toffees ace should leave Goodison Park this summer.
