Everton defender Seamus Coleman raves about over Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher

Everton defender Seamus Coleman has showered heaps of praise on Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

Ireland will return to action this week when they host Belgium at the Aviva Stadium.

According to reports from Balls.ie, Kelleher is almost certain to feature, and Coleman has suggested that the young Reds keeper has impressed him in training.

“In Caoimhin’s two matches to date, against Qatar and Hungary, he hasn’t conceded a goal,” said Coleman, as quoted by Balls.ie.

“He deserves his chance because he has been absolutely excellent.

“It’s early days, you don’t want to put too much pressure on either of them [Kelleher and Gavin Bazunu] at the moment.

“But to be completely honest with you, they are two exceptional goalkeepers. What we see in training on a daily basis from both of them, they are of a very, very high standard.”

Inspiration

Kelleher has become the second-choice goalkeeper under Jurgen Klopp and he was brilliant during their Carabao Cup win this season.

It is not usual to see an Everton player dishing out compliments to players from Liverpool, but credit should be given where it is due.

Coleman is an experienced player for Ireland and he is loved and respected by the players and the fans. He is an inspiration for any young player at both club and country levels.

Frank Lampard will hope that Coleman doesn’t pick an injury during the international break as Everton need him badly as they look to avoid the drop.

Coleman has always been a hard-working player, but he has struggled for consistency this season.

After Nathan Patterson’s impressive performance for Scotland, it remains to be seen whether Frank Lampard will be tempted to use him against West Ham in their next Premier League game.
