View: The fans will be fuming after David Moyes Everton comments
Everton fans will be furious after former manager David Moyes admitted he was “very, very close” to a second spell at Goodison Park, as per The Athletic.
The Scot left the Blues in 2013 to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and things haven’t been the same at the club ever since.
Since then the Toffees have been through six managers, rather unsuccessfully with their seventh and current manager Frank Lampard looking to change that.

He also told The Athletic: “Everton has always been close [to my heart] and always will be because I was there so long — 11 years. It’s a long time to be at a club and we went through a lot together.
“They’ve spent an awful lot of money and it feels as if it hasn’t really taken on. But I don’t think that should be a shock to anybody in football.
“I think you see it at a lot of clubs, where clubs spend money and – even West Ham a couple of years ago spent a lot of money to try to challenge – but there’s a way you have to go about it.
“I’m disappointed for Everton, but ultimately at the moment my job is at West Ham.”
Don’t need your pity.
This will really rub the Evertonians the wrong way. The fans were heartbroken when he departed almost a decade ago.

Moyes gave this generation of Blues their best years supporting the club and despite not winning anything, they were a joy to watch.
Everton was consistently in and around the top four places and came close to winning the FA Cup but unfortunately lost to Chelsea who was almost unbeatable at the time.
As much as these comments come from a kind place from Moyes, it will really annoy the fans.
Firstly, they will be devastated he didn’t come back before choosing east London and claret & blue. They have seen the success he has enjoyed there in his second spell and they will be wishing he could have done that with the Toffees because they are more than capable.
What the Scot said had undertones of pity for the Blues and the state they find themselves in which will damage the supporters’ pride no doubt.
In other Everton news, the Blues could dismiss Dele Alli without having to pay a penny – report.
