Dele Alli and Demarai Gray react to Anthony Gordon performance for England-U21’s

Everton starlet Anthony Gordon scored a screamer during the England U21’s win over Andorra on Friday night while his club teammates watched from home.

Gordon started on the bench but came on to score the fourth in a 4-1 win at the Vitality Stadium, smashing a brilliant volley into the bottom corner.

During the game both Demarai Gray and Dele Alli shared images of themselves watching the game, tagging their budding club colleague in the posts to make it clear why they were watching.

Gray posted an image of his feet up with the caption, “I enjoyed that” coupled with a fire emoji while Dele simply tagged him in an image showing him watching the game on his laptop.

Gordon’s 20 minute cameo was enough to make an impression and he will be hoping to get a start for the Under-21’s squad when they face Albania on Tuesday night.

Talent

Gordon has been the shining light in a horror season at Goodison Park this season, so it’s nice to see him getting some recognition now.

Playing on either wing or even as a number ten, Gordon has shown an ability to influence games positively and consistently even if the team around him is under-performing.

Everton

At just 21-years-old there is plenty of room for improvement considering this is his first full-season of senior football, and the fact his teammates are picking up on his ability is always a positive.

Gray and Dele have had differing seasons themselves, but with 12 games left the need is for them all to come together now and find a way to turn it around.

With three points separating them from the relegation zone currently, they have a small bit of breathing room but not much and are edging scarily close to real trouble.
