View: Frank Lampard should blame Harry Redknapp for Everton blunder
Frank Lampard should blame his uncle Harry Redknapp for the signing of Everton flop Dele Alli after what he told him before he signed for the Blues.
The former Tottenham manager revealed whilst speaking to talkSPORT on 18 March that he encouraged the Blues boss to sign his former player despite his huge decline in form in recent years.
He said: “Before Frank took him, I texted Frank, and said: ‘Listen, Dele Alli, I think if you can get him going, he’s some player’,

“I’ve stuck up for him, I keep saying he’s a fantastic talent, but why’d you go and do that? Turning up in a Rolls Royce [on his first day] like that, it tells you everything about what’s gone wrong for him.
“Listen, I love him, love him. He’s a fantastic talent and I’m desperate to see him get back in that team and get back in the England squad because I think he can really
“He can’t be [working hard enough on the training pitch] can he? I thought he’d go in there and be great. He had such talent, I loved him, I thought he was a superstar, but he can’t get a game.”
Take responsibility
It was a huge risk signing Alli and the Toffees surely knew that. He has crashed out of the England squad and dropped right to the bottom of the Tottenham pecking order over the last couple of seasons which suggest there are massive problems for the player.

As much as this is a really bad piece of advice from Redknapp, it is a huge blunder from Everton and one they have made many times.
They have yet again wasted their time with a washed-up player who is well past their best simply because he plays for a big team and is somewhat of a big name in England.
Understandably Lampard was desperate to revamp the squad, particularly the midfield when he arrived on Merseyside but do the recruitment team not have any vision or at least learn from their mistakes?
Thankfully its looks as though the midfielder could leave the Blues with them having to pay a penny for his service. That shows just how bad his run has been and you have to feel sorry for the 25-year-old.
