Everton set for a summer of departures amid financial worry – Dean Jones

Everton are set for a busy summer transfer window according to transfer insider Dean Jones amid a difficult time at the club financially.

It is likely to be departures that take up the bulk of the action as the Toffees look to get a grip on their financial troubles.

Like many others, the Blues were hurt by the Russian conflict with Ukraine as they were forced to cut ties with Russian investor, Alisher Usmanov.

Ahead of the summer window, Jones told Football FanCast: “Ultimately, they also need to make some money right now, selling their best players is the best way to do that.”

Devastating

Everton just can’t catch a break at the minute.

It would have been nice for Lampard to be rewarded with a sensible budget at the end of the season when Frank Lampard hopefully secures Premier League safety with the Toffees.

He is currently working with a mismatched group of players that he hasn’t signed which naturally makes it very difficult for him to play the style of football he wants.

You have to feel sorry for the former Chelsea boss, inheriting this awful squad and now potentially not having the opportunity to splash some cash in the summer.

Furthermore, things could get even worse with the Blues having to sell some players to make some money.

That doesn’t bode well for the fans with a host of key Toffees players linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer. This is a make-or-break next few months for the club.

In other Everton news, Lampard must back Nathan Patterson according to Michael Ball.
