Southampton look to beat Everton to signing of Tete
Everton are among the host of clubs keen to sign Tete, but Southampton are leading the race, according to 90min.
The 22-year-old Brazilian winger scored 10 goals in all competitions for Shakhtar Donetsk before the league has been put on hold following Russia’s invasion at the end of February.
The report adds that Brentford, Brighton, Leicester and West Ham are also keen to sign him along with the Toffees, but he is looking likely to head towards St Mary’s in the summer.

Budget
The situation in Ukraine is unprecedented, but the Premier League have blocked the use of FIFA and UEFA’s approved window for Ukrainian and Russian clubs’ foreign players to join mid-season.
In such a scenario, Southampton can only sign the in-demand winger in the summer transfer window, although it’s not clear whether the transfer would involve paying a fee to Shakhtar.
Everton, right now, are not in a position to plan for the future, as they have bigger issues to deal with.

The Toffees have allowed themselves to be dragged into the relegation fight, and they have a tough battle on their hands for survival.
Even if, they manage to survive, it remains to be seen, how the club will operate in the summer, after the worrying financial report came out on Tuesday.
With the new stadium plans also in progress, Frank Lampard may have to operate on a tight budget in the summer.
