Darren Bent savages Everton striker Richarlison live-on-air
Darren Bent has savaged Everton forward Richarlison for his performances and said the club would be lucky to get their money back for him in a transfer.
The Brazilian joined the club in 2018 in a deal worth up to £50m from Watford, following then manager Marco Silva to Goodison Park.
Despite being a fan favourite, his performances this season have been underwhelming and with speculation that he could leave in the summer Bent questioned whether he’d be that big a loss while on talkSPORT.

“You look at Richarlison for instance and I guess his stats are not too bad. I’m pretty sure they bought him for like £50m from Watford after he’d scored like five goals. I think it was Marco Silva who took him to Everton.
“He’s got 13 goals in 35, not bad. 13 again, seven last season and four this season.
“I read, I’m not quite sure how true it was, that Barcelona enquired about him for £80m. If I was Everton at that time I would’ve snapped their hand off. 80 million!?
“Now, who’s going to buy him for £50m? Nobody in the Premier League would buy him for £50m.
“Would I have Richarlison [at Arsenal]? No, not for me. Too inconsistent. If I had to choose one it would be Calvert-Lewin, simply because of what we need right now.
“If it was my option I wouldn’t take either of them. But if I had to take one it would be Calvert-Lewin.”

Harsh
There aren’t many Everton players that will come out of this season with their stock in check, but Richarlison probably will.
He is constantly running, always speaking well of the club and giving 100 per cent and while his performances haven’t been the best this year, it’s not for a lack of effort.
At just 24-years-old he’s still got his prime years ahead of him and if Everton can maintain their Premier League status then he is one of the players the club should be building around.
We’ve seen with the Brazilian national team that in a good setup he can perform to a very high level, so there’s no reason he can’t replicate that in a blue shirt.
There are a host of top clubs that would sign him and none would be expecting to pay less than £50m, so Bent is being overly harsh with his comments on this occasion.
