Jamie Carragher tells Frank Lampard to get used to losing at Everton

Jamie Carragher has claimed that Frank Lampard needs to get used to losing at Everton as the Blues continue to battle relegation.

The former Chelsea boss has only won four out of ten games since taking charge at Goodison Park with two of those coming in the FA Cup.

However, Carragher has noticed the Toffees fans remain behind the new boss despite his tough start which will put him in good stead as the 43-year-old looks to ensure Premier League survival.

“He’s now at a club where he’s got to get used to losing right now with the run that they are on- the run that these players have been on before and what he’s on now,” the former Liverpool man told The Overlap.

“Now, he’s got to be the guy who comes in on Monday and lift the players and this is a Frank Lampard who is not used to losing as a player.

“It’s tough, that feeling coming into a training ground on Monday morning when you have had a bad defeat and that’s the big thing for Frank, he’s never had to do this in his managerial career- he’s always been involved in good teams.

“When you talk about Goodison, that is one of the things that have gone well, there’s been a good atmosphere in a lot of the games where they’ve had good results and Frank has been on the pitch and embracing the supporters. Everton fans are behind Frank.”

Ludicrous

Carragher has lost his mind suggesting Lampard has to get used to losing at the club. Yes, they have been below average for quite a while now but the Blues are undergoing a torrid season like no other.

Everton

Farhad Moshiri has year upon year sucked the life out of the club and the appointment of Rafa Benitez has completely derailed this season, leaving them in a dire state.

However, it was a highly mooted concern amongst the Everton supporters that Lampard has not faced a task like the one he currently faces on Merseyside.

His time at Chelsea and Derby was rather glamorous but given his background, he has adapted to the dogfight very well.

Of course, the Toffees are still very much in trouble having a lot of work to do from now until the end of the season but the former England international is on the right track.

He deserves more credit for the increasingly difficult task he faces.
