Jamie O’Hara criticises Everton for conceding second goal v West Ham

Jamie O’Hara has been left shocked after Everton conceded the second goal against West Ham on Sunday.

The Toffees got a huge goal to level the tie at the London Stadium after the break, but sloppy defending saw them concede a goal shortly afterwards.

O’Hara has criticised the “shambolic” defending from the Toffees, suggesting that’s now how the defenders should approach a Premier League game.

Speaking to Sky Sports, O’Hara said: “Absolutely shocking. The defending is absolutely shambolic. They have just got themselves back into the game. A massive goal.

“You cannot score from row Z. For 5-10 minutes get rid of the ball. You can’t play like that in the Premier League and expect to win games.”

Spot on

Lampard has become the first Everton manager to have lost all four away games.

To be honest, Lampard doesn’t have a great track record of delivering results away from home, and the same trend continues.

On this occasion, it’s Everton who are themselves to blame.

They started the game brightly and created some very good chances.

Unlike in the previous game, when the team fell apart after conceding a goal, here, the Toffees fought back to level the tie.

It was a massive goal at that point, but they allowed the Hammers to crawl back into the game, thanks to some sloppy defending.

And once Michael Keane was shown the red card, the task become really difficult to come back into the game.

While it was encouraging to see Everton playing positive football away from home, the defence is nothing but shambolic at times, littered with individual errors.
