Everton summed up by Sean Dyche ‘how to win’ comments after 3-2 loss

Yet another Premier League defeat came for Everton yesterday as Burnley edged their relegation six-pointer at Turf Moor with a late winner.

Maxwel Cornet grabbed that crucial goal for the Clarets after Richarlison had bagged a brace of penalties to give the Toffees a 2-1 lead at half-time.

But they could not hold on as Jay Rodriguez equalised before Cornet’s winner sank the Blues closer to the relegation zone with just nine games left to play.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche even used Everton’s horrible form to motivate his own players at the break as he revealed in a post-match interview.

“I’ve been down there, I know what it’s like and every season there have been tough patches for us,” Dyche said, as quoted by The Metro.

“It’s hard to explain, but sometimes you sense that a team might have lost how to win a game.

“I said to them at half-time, ‘I’m not sure these know how to win a game, away from home particularly.'”

Not wrong

Everton fans might not like an opposition manager using our struggles as motivation but you can’t really blame him here.

He’s not wrong at all, we cannot win away from home for love nor money at the moment.

The last time Toffees fans travelled home from an away day with all three points to cheer about was all the way back in August when they beat Brighton 2-0 at the Amex under Rafael Benitez.

It’s not just winning that has become a problem though as there hasn’t even been a draw on the road since December when we nabbed a point from Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

It is simply not good enough from Frank Lampard and he must find a way to get the players passionate again if he wants to be a Premier League manager next season.

In other Everton news, Don Hutchinson branded last night’s game as “shambolic” in an expletive rant on Twitter.
