talkSPORT’s Jim White in morning phonecall with Everton owner Farhad Moshiri after Burnley loss
TalkSPORT host Jim White made contact with Everton owner Farhad Moshiri this morning (7 April) after the crushing loss at Burnley.
The Toffees threw away a 2-1 lead at Turf Moor to go down 3-2 thanks to a late Maxwel Cornet goal which leaves the Clarets only a point behind in the relegation battle.
Moshiri was in transit, it is unclear where despite the suggestion it was into Liverpool, and White speculated with co-host Simon Jordan on whether the British-Iranian businessman will risk showing up at the club’s ground.

Speaking on talkSPORT this morning (10.35am) White said: “Incidentally Simon, I spoke to Moshiri this morning. He’s travelling at the moment, was going through passport control, couldn’t really speak to me at that stage. But you never know, we might hear from him.”
Jordan said: “It will be interesting to see if he makes appearances at Goodison.”
“Yeah, exactly,” White replied.
Questions to answer
The owner has a lot of decisions to make over the coming weeks and months.
Whether the club manages to stay in the top flight or not, it is becoming increasingly clear that there are major issues at the club.
The squad appears to be unsuited to the task at hand, the coaching staff are unable to improve them, and the financial situation provides a concerning backdrop to the whole situation.

How much the players and the manager would be performing better if they were operating without the pressure of the club’s first ever relegation from the Premier League hovering over them is open to debate.
But all signs along the road to this stage point back to Moshiri.
He has spent money, which was always what the club wanted, but he hasn’t done it in anything resembling a coherent manner.
Perhaps that would be an obstacle that could have been negotiated, but the past two managerial appointments are starting to look like the worst mistakes he has made.
Rafael Benitez, a prominent figure in Liverpool history yet years removed from his trophy-winning prime, made little sense for the Toffees, and fans made that clear.
To then back the Spaniard against other staff and players compounded the issue, then quickly reversing course and sacking him anyway made it all a waste.
Then appointing Frank Lampard, unproven full stop, let alone in a crucial relegation battle, was a major gamble and so far it has not paid off.
Moshiri will have to face up to these soon and speak to the likes of White and others to provide answers.
In other Everton news, the manager has lost the backing of some of the players in a worrying echo of his Chelsea demise.
