Everton defender Nathan Patterson shares image following surgery

Everton defender Nathan Patterson has shared an image on social media following surgery on his ankle that has ended his season, revealing the operation went well.

The Scotland international moved to Goodison Park in January but has started just once in the FA Cup against Boreham Wood, where he was substituted at half-time.

But after picking up an injury during the most recent international break, Patterson has been ruled out for the rest of the season and has now shared that he has gone under the knife.

Sharing an image on his personal Twitter account, Patterson showed that his foot is all wrapped up and he thanked fans for their support.

“Op went well. Thanks for all the nice messages. Back stronger,” he said in the caption.

Fans will be hoping he returns to his best ready for the new season following a bland start to his blues career.

Blow

Patterson has barely been given a shake since making a mega-money move to the Premier League in January and it’s a big shame he won’t get a say in our survival battle now.

His energy down the flank, good defending in one on one situations and ability going forward would all have been a welcome addition to the side, even in place of long-time stalwart Seamus Coleman.

Everton

But now all his attention should go towards being ready for next season, regardless of whether we’re in the Premier League or the Championship.

He was signed for the future of the club and next season will be the perfect time to put him in the side and help develop him, because he’s clearly got the talent.

He’s now on the road to recovery thankfully, and fingers crossed it all goes well so he can get back as quickly as possible.
