Seamus Coleman and Fabian Delph available for Everton v Manchester United, Yerry Mina return date revealed

Everton will welcome back Seamus Coleman and Fabian Delph to the squad for their Saturday lunchtime game against Manchester United, Frank Lampard has confirmed.

Coleman has missed the last two games with illness, while Delph hasn’t featured since December after suffering a hamstring injury, but both will be in the squad for the game.

Lampard also revealed during his pre-game presser that the game comes too early for Yerry Mina, who has been out with a thigh injury, but says the club are expecting him to be fit for the clash with Leicester on April 20th.

“We’ve got Seamus Coleman – who on Wednesday night was feeling the effects of not being well and wasn’t fit to play – in consideration, so that’s a nice boost for the game tomorrow,” he said.

“Fabian Delph is in the squad and is fit and available. Yerry Mina we hope will be fit for Leicester (on April 20).”

Big boost

Everton have been struggling with injuries all season and recently in particular, their options have been limited due to red cards.

But the return of captain Coleman is a major boost at right-back while Delph will bring some depth to the side in the middle of the park, while Allan will also return after his suspension.

Donny Van de Beek is ineligible to play and Alex Iwobi struggled in the role alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure, so Lampard has options now rather than being forced to put square pegs into round holes.

With the defence so out of sorts this season too, the imminent return of Mina is a massive plus too, considering his leadership abilities and also just how good a defender he is.

He provides a great target defensively and offensively at set-pieces and is quick and strong enough to deal with one-on-one situations. Toffees will be buzzing to get him back in the side.
