Super Computer makes new Everton relegation prediction after Norwich win v Burnley

Everton now have a 30 per cent chance of being relegated from the Premier League after Norwich’s 2-0 win over Burnley at Carrow Road today.

In yet another major twist at the bottom-end of the Premier League table, the Canaries ensured Everton would retain their four-point gap to the bottom three by beating Sean Dyche’s side on 10 April.

After Frank Lampard’s side won 1-0 against Manchester United yesterday, FiveThirtyEight‘s Super Computer predicted there was a 35 per cent chance of the Blues being relegated.

Now, the number-crunching software predicts the Blues have a 70 per cent chance of staying up.

What a weekend

Who’d have expected this after our capitulation at Turf Moor in the week?

Burnley had the wind in their sails and were set to play bottom-placed Norwich, who’ve been hopeless for weeks.

Everton had Champions League-chasing Manchester United, knowing they could have ended this weekend in the bottom three.

Who can honestly say that expected the set of results we’ve had?

Watford and Burnley lost and Everton won. Wow.

This is what football is all about, isn’t it?

It’s unpredictable and just when you think something is done and dusted, another curveball gets thrown your way.

Of course, there are still plenty of games left to play and we still have a tougher run-in than Burnley.

However, the momentum has swung massively in our favour over the last 36 hours and we’re praying it can stay that way.
