Frank Lampard raves about ‘pivotal’ Everton duo
Frank Lampard has been left impressed with the performance of Fabian Delph as Everton won 1-0 against Manchester United in their last league game.
Delph made a comeback in the game after a long injury lay-off, and he was simply superb against the Red Devils.
The Toffees boss is also hopeful that Yerry Mina will return to action against Leicester City in the next game.

“I hadn’t been able to play him yet [because of injury] but I have been really keen to, because he has got experience and this situation demands that,” said Lampard to EvertonTv.
“He has also got positional awareness, the way receives the ball… He is a leader in the dressing room.
“Hopefully we will also have Yerry Mina back for the next game. These are players who are really pivotal to what we’re trying to do, and Delphy came back and showed why [he is one of those].”
Futures
Both Mina and Delph are highly experienced players and they add quality to the side.
At the same time, both the players have struggled with fitness and it makes the job of the manager extremely difficult to build a team around them.
Delph will be a free agent in the summer, and the Toffees are unlikely to hand him a new deal. He must give his all in the remaining few games to end his tenure at the Merseyside club on a high.
Lampard needs to make a bold call on the future of Mina in the summer.

The Colombian defender has a contract at the club till 2023, and he is more than capable of performing at a high level for years to come.
He is a colossal presence at the back, and marshals the defence extremely well. Unlike other defenders at the club, he is not error-prone, rather his concentration levels are admirable.
However, his fitness remains a thorny issue for the club.
In other Everton news, Michael Ball thinks this out-of-sorts Toffee needs a lot of work at Finch Farm before he’s ready to start games again.
