Richard Dunne makes bizarre Everton-Barcelona comparison
Sky Sports pundit Richard Dunne believes that Frank Lampard can get Everton playing like Barcelona despite the extremely tough job he has on his hands at Finch Farm.
The former Blues ace believes his old team will avoid relegation as they sit rather uncomfortably in 17th in the Premier League and just four points off the drop zone.
Dunne believes the former Chelsea boss should be let off the hook for his shortcomings since joining in January with his predecessors the ones who are responsible.

“Frank has experience in the Championship and knows the league,” Dunne said as he spoke on behalf BoyleSports via Express.
“When he was there, he used his contacts at Chelsea to help him at Derby. I don’t see them going down and I think if they stay up, I think Lampard can definitely improve them after a fresh start with a pre-season and a summer transfer window.
“I think he’s a manager who can give them Barcelona-type football and get them higher in the league. I don’t think the poor season or results are down to him, but it’s down to previous managers. He’s just trying to handle the situation and he’s the man to bring them forward.”
Baby steps
Has Dunne lost his mind? Obviously, the Catalonian giants aren’t the world-beating team they once were but for them to be mentioned in the same breath as this Everton team is genuinely crazy.

Lampard will be hoping to win back-to-back games as Toffees manager as he tries so desperately to get a consistent tune out of this team – never mind playing Barcelona type football.
The former Derby boss might be able to lift the Blues to similar heights one day but that is likely to be a long, long way away and it will take more than a couple of transfer windows and a full pre-season with the squad to get there.
Despite taking a massive step in the right direction against Manchester United last time out, the Blues are still a long way from Premier League safety and they simply can’t afford to run before they can walk.
Who knows what is around the corner with this team.
