Dominic Calvert-Lewin sale would help Everton cover money lost by Alisher Usmanov sanctioning
Newcastle United have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race to sign Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer.
According to The Mirror (17 April, page 77), the Toffees forward is a “saleable asset”, and he is likely to leave in the summer, irrespective of whether they stay up or not.
The report claims that both the Magpies and the Gunners have made contact to sign the England striker already.

Big money move?
The Toffees, if they avoid the drop, could be tempted to cash in on Calvert-Lewin if there’s a good offer on the table.
Newcastle, owned by a consortium led by the Saudi government’s sovereign wealth fund, is one of the richest clubs in the world [Marca], and they could be looking to bolster their forward line in the summer.
Calvert-Lewin has struggled with form and fitness this season, but he is still seen as one of the finest strikers in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old has a contract at the club till 2025, and the Toffees are expected to demand a high transfer fee for him if they at all decide to let him go.
Everton could benefit financially by selling him after they lost the Russian backer Alisher Usmanov in the last few weeks.
The Magpies are confident of securing a deal for the England striker, but they could face strong competition from Arsenal.
In other Everton news, more competition could be incoming for Branthwaite as the club scout this £19million-rated defender playing in Turkey.
