Ex-Premier League referee: Richarlison should’ve been sent off in Everton loss v Liverpool
Keith Hackett believes Richarlison should have been sent off as Everton lost to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
It comes after footage emerged of the Brazilian, 24, kicking out at Jordan Henderson while he was lying on the ground in the 2-0 defeat.
After being sent a clip of the incident involving Richarlison, former FIFA and Premier League referee Hackett said that the Brazil international should have been sent off.
Writing via his personal Twitter account, Hackett said: “I called this out, should have seen red.”
Definite red
We cannot argue about this one.
Evertonians can go on all day long about the Anthony Gordon incident but this was a stonewall red card that was totally missed by all of the referees involved in the game.
Let’s face it, it’s one of the worst-reffed matches we’ve ever witnessed and that involves incidents on both sides of the Merseyside derby.
Richarlison put his foot on Henderson’s shin and then kicked at him with his studs.

While we feel as though Henderson threw himself to the ground a bit, it doesn’t cover up the fact that this was violent conduct from the Everton forward and that should have resulted in him being sent off.
Richarlison has been a liability at times over the last couple of seasons.
Sure, he pops up with the odd goal but have his performances been anywhere near that of a £50million player?
Absolutely not.
He looks like a player who doesn’t enjoy playing for Everton Football Club.
Well, guess what Richarlison. We don’t enjoy watching you play a lot of the time.
