Darren Ambrose talks up Richarlison ability, suggests move abroad if he leaves Everton

Everton forward Richarlison should move abroad if he leaves the club this summer because no other manager would put up with his moods and sulks, according to Darren Ambrose.

The Brazilian has been linked with an exit from the club as they battle against relegation this season, but scored the winner against Chelsea at the weekend to help the cause.

But Ambrose, who was speaking live on talkSPORT, believes no managers in the Premier League would want to put up with his sulks despite his amazing ability and suggested he should move abroad if he does leave.

“He’s unreadable really,” he said.

“A few years ago I think he had two seasons in a row where he scored 13 Premier League goals. Thats a good return for Richarlison. He had a quiet season where he scored 7, and this season I think he has 8. He’s got 3 in 2 for Brazil so they clearly like him as well.

“On his day he’s fantastic. He’s got great ability. Kind of Brazilian ability, you can see that at times, but on the flip side he can be moody, he can be a little bit sulky on the pitch as well.

“Honestly I don’t know where he would go in England other than staying at Everton. So maybe a move abroad would be the way forward for Richarlison which would be a shame, because he is a good player but I just can’t see another manager really putting up with his sulks.

“I know it’s his persona that he gives out on the pitch but he looks moody at times, but like you said great ability though.”

Nonsense

What an absolute nonsense take that is from Ambrose, a former Premier League footballer by the way.

Richarlison is certainly someone who wears his heart on his sleeve and shows all his emotions on his face, but his attitude is something that absolutely cannot be questioned.

He is constantly running, always giving everything for the badge, performing well, upholding standards and yes sometimes he has a frown on but he’s not supposed to be smiling if we’re battling relegation.

The ideal situation is that he stays at the club after helping us stay in the Premier League and is able to forge a career at Goodison Park where he fulfils his potential, but the likelihood is he will leave at some point.

When that day comes whatever club gets him will be absolutely thrilled and will know they can rely on him to get dirty when the going gets tough if needs be. He’s a credit to the club and deserves all the praise he gets.
