Andre Gomes tipped as potential summer Everton exit, ‘big decisions’ on Allan and Yerry Mina
Andre Gomes is one Everton high earner who the club may try to sell in the summer, while Allan and Yerry Mina face “big decisions” says Patrick Boyland.
The Athletic journalist believes Portuguese midfielder Gomes is a candidate for the exit as the club looks to shed some of its large wage bill, with impending free agents such as Cenk Tosun and Gylfi Sigurdsson almost certain to leave.
South American duo Allan and Mina have proven to be important contributors to Frank Lampard’s side when injury or suspension hasn’t kept them out, but with a year left on their respective contracts the club is faced with a choice of whether to sell now or risk them leaving for nothing after next season.

Replying to a question on his Q&A on The Athletic Boyland said: “I think they’ll get rid of a number of free agents (Tosun, Sigurdsson etc) and then see if they can shift some high earners.
“Wouldn’t be surprised if Gomes was one of those – he may well feel as though he’s at a stage know where he needs to move anyway in search of regular mins.
“Big decisions to make on Mina and Allan given both going into last year of contracts.
“Let’s see what division they’re in first – that will play a major role here.”
Exodus?
There appears to be three levels of potential leavers from Goodison in what is set to prove a busy summer.
There are big-money millstones like Tosun who face little chance of being offered new contracts considering their record on Merseyside.
Then there is the likes of Gomes with whom there is not pressing contract requirements for a decision to be made, but in light of the club finances would probably be worth more to the club in the form of space on the balance books.

Stronger performers like Colombian defender Mina are a more interesting case, as the 1-0 win over Chelsea (1 May) showed how valuable he is to the side when available, but questions remain as to whether that is often enough to justify the expenditure.
Everything counts in terms of savings and incomings currently, and modest fees for players with a year left would go a long way towards targets that Frank Lampard may have for the summer.
The likes of Fabian Delph, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is another who on his day is an asset but has missed too much football, so there are likely to be plenty of faces missing at the start of next term.
If that is for football in the Championship it would add a whole other level to the departures, with players the club would otherwise cling onto dearly immediately in line for potential sales as well.
