Mark Lawrenson predicts outcome of Everton clash v Leicester
Everton will look to pick up their first away win under Frank Lampard when they face Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
Mark Lawrenson suggests that Frank Lampard just needs to say his players to repeat the heroics of their last game (1-0 win against Chelsea), and has predicted a 2-0 win for the visitors.
Leicester have had a difficult season and they don’t have much to play for now after suffering defeat against Roma in the Europa conference league on Thursday (05 May).

“Leicester have had a difficult season, playing Thursday-Sunday for most of it because of their European involvement, but they have only just dropped out of the top half of the table,” said Lawrenson to BBC Sport.
“It is injuries to key players that have affected the Foxes the most during this campaign, and that’s the reason they have been so inconsistent.
“They don’t have much to play for in the league now, so I just have a feeling Everton will nab the points here, despite having the worst away record in the top flight in 2021-22 with just one win and three draws from 16 games.
“All Toffees manager Frank Lampard has to do is tell them before kick-off is ‘same as last week’. If they play like they did against Chelsea, they will win this game too.”
Big game
It’s a massive game for the Toffees and they have to win this one or even pick up a draw.
After producing a superb performance against Chelsea, it would be a huge disappointment if they don’t get a good result away from home.
The away record is horrendous – the worst record in the top flight – but if Toffees need to turn it around to salvage their season.

The Toffees are 18th in the table, two points behind both Burnley and Leeds, but they have a game in hand. This is the game they must capitalise, on and get out of the drop zone.
Leeds will travel to north London to face Arsenal this weekend, and Everton have a chance to leapfrog them if the results go in their favour.
Leicester have dropped out of the top half of the table after a disappointing campaign, and after a disappointing defeat in midweek, they could struggle to get their motivation back to pick themselves up.
