Major Everton boost ahead of their crucial match against Watford
Everton have been given a major boost ahead of their match against already-relegated Watford as Roy Hodgson confirmed the Hornets could be without nine senior players.
The Toffees have climbed out of the relegation zone after battling to back to back Premier League victories against Chelsea and Leicester City.
The Toffees face already relegated Watford in their next Premier League fixture with Hodgson’s side in the midst of an “Injury crisis”.
As reported by PA Sport’s Sonia Twigg, Hodgson has admitted he’s expecting nine senior players to miss the clash with the Lampard’s side at Vicarage Road.
As per Watford’s official website, Joao Pedro, Samir, Tom Cleverly, Kiko Femenia, Josh King, Emmanuel Dennis and Ismaïla Sarr are all major doubts.
Music to Lampard’s ears
Everton have had a positive couple of weeks and this news will give Lampard plenty of confidence heading into this fixture.
A win for the Toffees will heap the pressure onto Burnley and Leeds United in the relegation battle.
Everton are by no means safe as of yet, but their recent performances and upcoming fixtures provide plenty of confidence that they will get the job done.

A win for Lampard’s men will take them four points ahead of Burnley, who don’t feature in the midweek schedule and within touching distance of 15th place Southampton.
Facing an already relegated side that has crippling injury issues looks like the ideal fixture for the Toffees.
However, they must maintain the same level of motivation they have displayed in recent weeks.
Everton have struggled for a reason this season and they must not return to their previous level of performance against a poorer side.
